9 & 12 NORTH BANK STREET

Our Makars Mash Bar has two entrances at 9 and 12 North Bank Street.

All reservations are welcomed through no. 9 while walk-ins are welcomed through no. 12. Both doors lead to the same tasty food, friendly service and warm atmosphere.

Our Mound locations connects Edinburgh’s Old Town with the New Town. Ideally located a short walk away from the Castle, Waverley train station and most central hotels.

Friday-Saturday: 12:00 –  21:15
Sunday: 12:00 – 19:45

Open as usual every other day

BOOKINGS : all bookings are made through this link. If there’s no
availability, please note that we have a dedicated walk-ins door and run a
waiting list each day.  You will normally be given a time slot and then a text when your table is ready, so you don’t even need to wait in line.

Bookings open 90 days ahead. There is no booking during August.

WALK-INS : We always welcome walk-ins and will do our best to accommodate you on a first-come first-serve basis. Some of our tables, our extension and our outside space (if you’re brave enough) are dedicated to walk-in guests.

GROUPS : due to our size, the biggest group we can accommodate is 8 people. We are unable to make any exception.

DOGS : Although we love dogs, they are not allowed in our restaurant.
